Nexus has threatened to ban disabled people from bringing mobility scooters on its Tyne and Wear Metro system after the fourth accident involving the vehicles in the past year. The threat was made this week after a scooter crashed onto the line causing disruption to services. Nexus also said it was considering legal action to recover costs caused by the disruption.
