The 6th UN Global Road Safety Week ran from 17 to 23 May. Central to the week was the call for 30km/h or 20mph to become the maximum speed wherever motor vehicles mixed with pedestrians and cyclists in a planned way unless there was clear evidence that a higher speed was safe.
