E-scooter rental firm Voi is trialing wireless charging of e-scooters in a partnership with a spin-out firm from Imperial College London.
Bumblebee Power has retrofitted a Voi scooter with a receiving unit to demonstrate wireless charging technology. The partnership could lead to the deployment of charging pads in cities, not only for e-scooters but e-bikes too.
E-scooter rental firms currently either deploy swappable batteries or take the scooters off the street to recharge them.
