TfL seeks to trial cyclist traffic signals

Transport for London has asked the DfT for permission to trial two new designs of traffic signals to help cyclists. A TfL spokesman said it wanted to be able to introduce a dedicated cycling phase at selected junctions but cannot do so because cycle signs can currently only be depicted on the Green and Amber lamps of traffic signals. TfL also wants to trial separate traffic signals located at cyclists’ eye height....
