West Yorkshire operators “surprised and dismayed” at ITA’s quality contracts plan

Bus operators across West Yorkshire have expressed “surprise and dismay” that the West Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority (ITA) has rejected partnership plans, in favour of pursuing regulation through quality contracts.  In a joint statement via the Association of Bus Operators in West Yorkshire, the industry claimed that quality contracts would take years to put in place, cost millions of pounds and give no guarantee of improvements to services.  The association...
