Councils put gritting data on social media

Manchester City Council has launched a Twitter feed to keep people up to date on where its gritters are working during the winter. The feed – @MCCGritters1 – will let followers know when salt is being spread on key routes. Surrey County Council, meanwhile, has also launched a gritting-related Twitter feed in partnership with BBC Surrey.
