‘Little hope’ for West Mids rail link

There is little chance of reinstating passenger rail services between Wolverhampton and Walsall in the short-term, according to Centro. “There appears to be no affordable/feasible option to allow its reinstatement in the short-term on a cost-effective and practical basis,” Tom Magrath, Centro’s strategy and commissioning director, told the Integrated Transport Authority this week. The service was introduced in 1998 but withdrawn in December 2008.
