Heat sensors count pedestrian activity

The City of London Corporation has purchased pedestrian count equipment that relies on the heat generated by the human body.

The Eco Pyro pedestrian counter manufactured by Traffic Technology will monitor pedestrian use of London Bridge.

The manufacturer said the  equipment can count pedestrians even if they are close together....
