Welsh towns bid for ‘green’ travel status

The Welsh Assembly Government is sifting council proposals for new ‘sustainable travel towns’. Wales’ draft national transport plan, published last July, pledged cash for up to three more towns, building on the initiative already underway in Cardiff. TraCC, the mid-Wales regional transport consortium, has submitted a bid for Aberystwyth. The SWWITCH consortium has prioritised its bid with first choice being Haverfordwest followed by Carmarthen town, Swansea and finally Neath....
