Oxford hit by new bill for concessionary fares

Oxford City Council faces a further £600,000 bill for concessionary travel after operators won an appeal against reimbursement arrangements.

Stagecoach Oxford and the Oxford Bus Company, a Go-Ahead subsidiary, said the level of reimbursement in 2008/09 was too low to achieve the Government’s ‘no better/no worse off’ objective.
