A Lottery bid submitted last week by transport charity Sustrans includes a proposed foot/cycle bridge over the River Ely in Cardiff. The 140-metre-span bridge would be east of the A4055 road bridge and would provide a link between Penarth and the International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay. The bridge would be part-funded by the Lottery and part-funded by Cardiff County Council, developer contributions and the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
