3.996bn passenger miles were travelled on London buses in 2003/04, transport minister Karen Buck told Clive Betts (Lab), a 12.15% increase on the 3.563bn passenger miles travelled in the previous year. Estimates of bus passenger miles are not collected for transport authorities outside London, she added. Buck did reveal, however, that 560m passenger miles had been travelled on light rail systems in 2003/04, a 2.56% increase on the 546 million figure for the previous year. [08/06]...
