Keeping the city moving

Traffic and parking teams provide an essential public service, managing town centres and destinations for the benefits of residents, visitors and businesses.

Traffic and parking teams: ensure the free flow of traffic and public transport; provide safe routes for pedestrians, cyclists, children and people with disabilities; and make space for delivery vehicles, electric vehicles and new mobility services.

Besides being a public service, parking is in itself a business, generating valuable revenue for local authorities and a range of private sector providers. This means parking operations are continually working to harness data, deploy new technologies and provide a seamless and secure service to drivers.

The parking sector is:

• Delivering cashless payment via the National Parking Platform (NPP)
• Mapping the kerbside using Digital Traffic Management Orders
• Providing accessible parking for disabled people
• Ensuring front line staff are protected and able to carry out their role
• Rolling out of electric vehicle infrastructure.

Traffic + Parking 2025 provides a space in which local authorities and their partners can share best practice, learn about policy changes and check out the innovations in systems and services that will help them develop an excellent service.

Each authority has been allocated two free tickets. If your authority isn't listed, you will need to purchase an additional local authority ticket for £150 + VAT.
