Pocket parks, sports facilities, woodland walks and community gardens to be created from 5p plastic bag fee

The money raised from the government’s 5p bag charge in England will be used by Tesco to pay for a large number of local environmental improvement projects and from today, people right across the UK will be able to apply for grants or nominate online the local projects they want to see benefit from the funding.
