A four-pronged strategy designed to achieve a 65% reduction in the number of people killed or seriously injured on roads in Great Britain by 2035 has been released by the DfT.
Its new Road Safety Strategy also commits to a 70% reduction in the number of children (under 16) killed or seriously injured on roads by 2035.
The four ‘themes’ in the strategy comprise greater support for road users; technology and innovation; improved road and street infrastructure; and enforcement.
