Network Rail objects to Wrexham open access bid

Network Rail has informed the Office of Rail and Road that it does not support the proposed open access service between Wrexham and London Euston via Shrewsbury and Nuneaton.

Last year, the Wrexham, Shropshire & Midlands Railway applied to operate, from 2025 to 2032, five trains per day in each direction and four on Sundays. Its application was the only one of nine supported by the Department for Transport in a letter to the ORR on 4 February.
