Go Ahead Group has been linked to a bid for rail haulage company Freightliner. The group was reported in The Daily Telegraph to be in negotiations to acquire the company from its private equity owners 3i and Electra Partners, but is expected to lose out to Bahrain-based investment fund Arcapita. A sales price of over £350m is expected. Freightliner has annual turnover of over £230m and has invested £250m in new locomotives and wagons since 2000....
