Over the past month there have been signs that the long-awaited revolution in public transport ticketing and payment systems is about to take off. New smart ticketing schemes have been launched in Merseyside, Cardiff and Oxford. Meanwhile, In the South West, a new not for profit company has been formed by local authorities and the bus industry to deliver smart ticketing throughout the region.
