Four new ‘smart’ public transport ticketing initiatives have been announced by transport authorities, sub-national transport bodies, and public transport operators.
The schemes aim to deliver London-style smart ticketing with passengers able to pay-as-they-go using bankcards and smartphone apps, and fare caps ensuring passengers never pay more than the price of a day or weekly ticket.
