Andrew Conroy of Gatwick Express celebrates the 94% satisfaction rating from passengers

Train operators have seized on the results of the latest National Passenger Survey as evidence that they have succeeded in raising their standards of service.

The results of the survey this spring of 26,000 rail passengers were published by Passenger Focus, the nationwide rail passenger watchdog, this week. They show that 80% of passengers were satisfied with their overall journey - up from 76% in spring 2005.
