Plans to make a section of Oxford Street traffic-free will be implemented as “quickly as possible”, Mayor of London Sir Sadiq Khan has announced.

All vehicles bikes and scooters would be banned from a 0.7-mile (1.1km) stretch between Oxford Circus and Marble Arch.

A public consultation from the Mayor’s Office in February 2025 attracted more than 6,000 responses, with two-thirds in favour of a traffic ban.
