IFS head Johnson joins Frontier Economics

Paul Johnson, who has just stood down as  Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), will be rejoining Frontier Economics  as a Senior Adviser on 1 August.

His role at Frontier, who undertake a significant range of transport-related activity, will run in parallel with his new position as the Provost of Queen’s College, Oxford.

Johnson previously held senior roles across government, including the Cabinet Office, the Financial Services Authority, and Treasury, where he was Director of Public Services and Chief Micro-Economist. He also served as Deputy Head of the Government Economic Service. 

Between 2007 and 2010, Johnson  was a Senior Associate at Frontier Economics, before returning to the IFS as Director in 2011. 

He has contributed to numerous public bodies, including the Economic and Social Research Council and the Committee on Climate Change.
