Government set to give London boroughs traffic scheme opt out

The Government has moved to legislate so London boroughs can opt out of future traffic control and road charging schemes proposed by the London Mayor.

The Government-backed amendment to the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill reflects the political fall out from the controversial expansion of the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) in the face of opposition from some councils.
