HS2 north of Birmingham delayed again and Old Oak Common, not Euston, initial London terminus

With rail projects, Phase 2a of the HS2 project between Birmingham and Crewe has been pushed back by two years. Plans to extend HS2 to its London terminus at Euston will now be delivered at the same time as Phase 2b to Manchester.

“We will therefore take the time to ensure we have an affordable and deliverable station design, delivering Euston alongside high-speed infrastructure to Manchester,” said Harper.
