Few breakdowns due to charge ‘running out’, says AA

Less than 4% of electric vehicle breakdowns in 2020 were due to “running out of charge”, research by the AA has revealed.

But almost all UK drivers overestimate the number of breakdowns that are a result of problems with EV charging infrastructure and vehicle range, according to the AA. 

The breakdown provider said that of the 13,000 electric vehicle breakdowns it attended just under 4% were for vehicles running out of charge.
