Roads’ potential to pollute rivers probed

London’s rivers may be being polluted by runoff from roads, according to a report for the mayor of London.  

Road runoff pollution happens when pollutants from oil spills and tyre and brake wear of vehicles build up on roads and is then washed into nearby rivers when it rains.
