Peterborough car park posed a safety risk

A multi-storey car park in Peterborough is to be demolished over safety fears. Peterborough City Council’s Market car park was closed during the summer following an adverse engineers’ report.

A recommendation that demolition was likely has been endorsed by a second report from structural engineers that confirmed that the 1970s’ building has reached the end of its life.

The 720-space car park, also known as the Market car park, is located on Cattle Market Road.
