Richmond plans to purge streets of double yellows

Richmond Council is set to remove large swathes of double yellow lines in six towns in a bid to create more parking spaces for shoppers. The London borough has pledged to remove “hundreds of metres” of double yellow lines in Whitton, Barnes, Teddington, Twickenham, Kew and East Sheen by next April.

Some of the new spaces will be 30-minute free parking bays while others will be pay & display. The council has already removed 50 metres of yellow lines in the Crown Road shopping...
