A plan to introduce a non-charging approach to delivering cleaner air in Manchester is on track.

Greater Manchester is under legal direction to meet legal limits for nitrogen dioxide on local roads “in the shortest possible time” and by 2026 at the latest.

In developing a new Clean Air Plan, Greater Manchester compared its investment-led proposals against a ‘benchmark’ Clean Air Zone in the regional centre (the centre of Manchester and bordering areas of Salford)....
