Road Safety plan is ‘very weak and disappointing’

The new Road Safety Strategy is vague on road traffic enforcement law and possible penalties, and fails support a roll-out of 20mph limits, says Dr Robert Davis

The Government’s long-awaited Road Safety Strategy (RSS) is headlined by apparently ambitious targets. However, the measures due to be implemented are very limited and unlikely to achieve the reductions in road danger that are both possible  and necessary for travel in a modern civilised society.
