Automated local delivery robots to begin legal service in Japan

Small, automated delivery robot mini-trucks will be able to use Japanese public roads from April under revised road traffic law.

With groups of the vehicles remotely monitored by humans, the move is hoped to address manpower shortages in the logistics industry.
