A set of measures to boost rail freight in the UK could generate between £75bn-£90bn in environmental, social and economic benefits over ten years, states a new report from the Rail Freight Group. The study, undertaken by Stephen Joseph Associates, says a new approach from national and local governments would “encourage further signfificant private investment in rail freight services and terminals”.
