Peter Headicar makes an excellent case for reducing commuting by car through workplace travel plans (LTT 19 Dec 13). This is an issue we would like to develop further. When employers provide alternatives to car ownership at the workplace, this has a transformative effect that reduces individuals’ propensity to drive for all trip purposes.
