New pavement parking rules unveiled by DfT

Reforms to simplify the enforcement of pavement parking have been announced by transport minister Norman Baker.

Writing to local authorities in England he set out the reforms needed to simplify the enforcement of illegal pavement parking.

Parking on pavements is subject to a blanket ban in London but throughout the rest of England local authorities have to introduce localised bans using Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).
