The opening of Edinburgh’s troubled first tram line could be delayed by more than two years and may require an extra £100m to be completed.

That is the stark warning issued by the consortium building the cross-city line from Leith to Edinburgh Airport. BSC (contractor Bilfinger Berger, Siemens and tram manufacturer CAF) said the line may not now be completed before January 2014 and the £100m of additional funds needed to complete the work was a “conservative”...
