Plans for a new £350m tram line through Trafford Park, Greater Manchester, have been approved. Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling, has granted Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) legal powers to build the new 3.4mile (5.5km) line on the Metrolink network. This means work could start on the line this winter – and with it becoming operational by 2020/2021.
