A new Great British Railways (GBR) team will be created with responsibility for setting timetables and prices, selling tickets in England and managing rail infrastructure, the DfT has been announced.
The team will be led by Andrew Haines, currently chief executive of Network Rail. Transport secretary Grant Shapps has also announced a competition to decide where the new headquarters of GBR will be.
