The DfT-backed Highway Maintenance Efficiency Programme has set an aim to reduce the cost of delivering highway maintenance services by 30% by 2020 while protecting services.
A new annual plan for the programme for 2014/15 launched last month says that its vision for the highways sector is to “deliver 15% savings by 2015 and 30% or more by 2020”.
