The DfT is to set five-year indicative funding allocations for the strategic road network (SRN).
The announcement came this week amid speculation that ministers will announce a major expansion of the road programme in the June spending review. The Times said projects being considered included completing the dualling of the A47 between Norfolk and Great Yarmouth; the A303 to the South West; and the A1 to the Scottish border.
