Trish Palmer is embarking on a new career as a bailiff after five years as a police community support officer

There is a fiery determination about Trish Palmer’s mission to become a civil enforcement agent. “I know that working as a bailiff is traditionally seen as a male role but it is my belief that women can be equal to men in any role,” she says. “It can still be hard in this society for a woman to be listened to. I’m aiming to be effective in my job. I suppose I’m trying to prove a point.”
