GE launches new train control solution for mass transit

A new control solution to improve efficiency of transit operations worldwide is to be introduced by GE Transportation. It accompanies the firm’s $60m investment in a software Center of Excellence.

Announcement of the plans to launch a new Communication- Based Train Control (CBTC) solution for mass transit applications was made at the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) EXPO 2011 held in New Orleans in October.
