In March 2020, the DfT published its priorities for the Transport Decarbonisation Plan, stating the current challenges and steps to be taken to ensure that the UK reaches net zero transport emissions by 2050. The full plan is eagerly awaited…
The delivery of these ambitious net zero transport targets is reliant upon empowering authorities with data, evidence and tools to develop evidence led future transport decarbonisation pathways for typologies of UK places.
We have developed a new three-part series of webinars specifically designed to consider the urgency of change and which decarbonisation pathways will be most effective.
More than 300 local authorities have declared a climate emergency, with many setting more ambitious net zero carbon targets that they aim to deliver many years earlier than 2050. Several sub-national transport bodies, such as England’s Economic Heartland (EEH) and Transport for the North (TfN), also have ambitions in place to achieve net zero transport by 2040.
Panellists to be announced shortly...
This webinar will explore:
What technological shifts need to be embedded, and by when?
Will innovation keep pace with the required transport decarbonisation pathways?
What emergent strategies do we need?
