Context and background

Serco
Drawing upon 12+ years’ experience operating the world-renowned Santander Cycles scheme in London, plus their recent design, build and operation of the largest geographically spread scheme in the West Midlands, this session is a must for local authorities looking to increase the active travel in their region.

CoMoUK
CoMoUK is the national organisation for shared transport, a charity for promoting its social, economic and environmental benefits. It works collaboratively with national, regional, transport and local authorities, as well as the private sector, to further these public benefits.

Leicester City Council
Santander Cycles Leicester was one of the largest public ebike share systems with 50 docking stations available and 500 e-bikes in use. It was owned by Leicester City Council, delivered by Ride On and supported by the Department for Transport (DfT) and Santander UK. It closed in early 2023 with the demise of delivery partner Ride On and plans are ongoing for its revival.

Department for Transport (DfT)
DfT is a ministerial department that plans and invests in transport infrastructure, including micromobility schemes.
