The first session, on 1 September at 10.30 - 12.00, will be called Using data to plan future transport networks and will focus on best practice uses of data to plan the transport networks of the future.
Particular attention will be paid to active travel data, DRT / real-time public transport demand data, connected vehicle data and mobile network data.
Specifically, the webinar will discuss how local authorities can make better use of – and get easier access to – suitable transport data.
The amount of data generated is vast, but how well are we equipped to gain valuable insight from this data tin order to support future transport plans?
Local transport planning is back in the spotlight. New guidance on preparation of Local Transport Plans (LTPs) is set to be issued in the autumn, and will include new objectives and supporting advisory documents setting out in one place the DfT’s objectives for local transport
LTPs will become a key point of engagement between central and local government about future funding.
New LTPs will be include advice on levelling up, the development of EV charging, and existing plans such as BSIPs and LCWIPs will be included in the LTP support documents.
