The panel will consider how COVID-19 is changing how we use kerbspace, with widening pavements, outdoor drinking and dining, more cycling lanes and the pressures this is placing on commercial vehicle operators to deliver efficiently and safely.

The event will also cover the following:

• Pricing: can this vary in response to dynamic demand?
• Regulating use: restricting specific uses of the kerb at certain times (e.g., early morning fresh food deliveries, passenger pick-up/drop-off use during morning and afternoon peak times, with midday parcel drop-off and pick-up)
• Permitting access: allowing access to the kerbside only for specific operators (e.g., on-street supermarket, shared vehicles, micro-mobility operators).
