The 2nd South West Highway Alliance conference & exhibition "Highway to Zero Carbon" takes place as a series of webinars, with the second event taking place on Tuesday 8th June 2021

Focussing on the highway sector's role in delivering Local Highway Authorities' targets for carbon neutrality, this one day conference promises to deliver an informative and inspiring selection of case studies and perspectives from across the South West and beyond. Aimed at senior personnel from the private, public and third sectors, the event aims to foster debate and discussion of this challenging and topical issue for the highways industry, and promises to provide inspiration to all.

The programme features leading figures from both the private sector and local and national government. Highlights include:

  • updates on progress towards the UK's carbon reduction targets,

  • debate on the opportunities and challenges facing the highway sector,

  • case studies and reports from pilot projects including DfT/ADEPT's live labs, and,

  • discussion of policy changes required to drive change.

The event will bring together over 100 Local Authority practitioners, contractors, suppliers and consultants from across the South West and nationally to share knowledge and experience of best practice.
