The Transport Systems Catapult, in conjunction with Landor LINKS, is pleased to announce Modelling Tomorrow’s World, the latest event in the Modelling World series.
Modelling Tomorrow’s World is a free event that will explore the key issues behind disruptive change to transport and mobility, and outline the ways that tomorrow's models need to evolve and respond. It will show new model methods that might be relevant to a more dynamic and uncertain environment.
Sessions on Tomorrow's Society will focus on how demographic, environmental and political changes, along with the rapid adoption of emerging technologies, will impact on tomorrow’s travel, and the radical implications for modelling techniques:
• disruptive challenges and policy thinking
• understanding impacts of social change through simulation
• Mobilty as a Service: modelling and appraisal
• Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, transformative land use and implications for modellling impacts
• supporting intelligent mobility investment with new modelling & data development approaches
• modelling for uncertain futures: promising new techniques
Sessions on Tomorrow's Technology will look at modelling approaches from around the world, and from non-transport domains:
• Emerging data futures
• making better use of AI and simulation
• the opportunities of the 'connected world' and Internet of Things
• building detailed models quickly at scale
• using virtual/augmented reality in modelling
• using models with real-time data
• modelling shared mobility in city planning
Modelling Tomorrow's World is aimed at modellers from transport or non-transport domains, data or system suppliers, data scientists, academic researchers, industry groups and university researchers, businesses, operators and planners interested in developing and using novel and emerging techniques in response to increasing challenges to the mainstream.
This event will take place on Wednesday 23rd November at the TSC in Milton Keynes.
Attendance is free but spaces are strictly limited and the organisers are looking to attract participants representing a diverse range of modelling talent and experience from a variety of sectors and backgrounds. For those unable to attend, there will be an opportunity to participate through a web link.
