Building the business of parking

The annual Parking & Property event is the one day in the year when property, parking, transport, technology and construction experts get together to explore the interaction between cars, people and places.

Parking & Property 2020 will focus on how property developers and parking operators are developing new business models that take account of changes in driver and customer behaviour, vehicle technologies, urban planning policies and the wider economy.

The Parking & Property series of conferences was launched in 2011, meaning that the 2020 event will be the 10th edition. This year's event promises to be a landmark gathering of experts and players from across the parking, property, construction, retail and automotive sectors.

The programme

Parking & Property is co-curated by Parking Review magazine in partnership sector-leading consultancy, Parking Matters, and organised by Landor LINKS.

The conference is a forum for exploring issues such as:

  • Car park design
  • Development issues
  • The parking management market
  • Payment technology trends
  • Legislative changes
  • Safety issues: Fire, structural collapses, etc.

The event’s scope extends beyond exploring facilities and infrastructure issues and serves a topical forum for exploring issues relating to:

  • Investment decisions
  • Retail trends
  • The health of the High Street
  • The evolution of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs)
  • Electric vehicles (EVs)
  • Automated valet parking (AVP)
  • The role of data in mobility.

One of the strengths of past Parking & Property (P&P) events is that even when looking at trends such as CAVs and data, the presentations have been grounded in real world experience and thus hopefully feel relevant.

A feature of Parking & Property is its international flavour, with past events featuring speakers and delegates from Europe and further afield. This underlines that the business of parking is an international one.

Who attends the event

The event engages with the questions being asked by parking and property professionals from across both the private and public sectors. It attracts:

  • Car park owners and operators
  • Local authorities
  • Architects and engineers
  • Construction companies
  • Parking technologists
  • Retail analysts
  • Consultants
