The Local Transport Summit 2019

On the 28-29^th November the 4^th Annual Local Transport Summit will be taking place at the Mercure Bradford, Bankfield Hotel.

This important event, now in its fourth year, brings together senior people involved in UK local transport including political leaders and professionals, including those with a connection to the future of our local transport system as planners, providers and users. The event has the active and engaging support of the Department for Transport and other significant professional bodies.

The event moves around the country and the host this year is West Yorkshire Combined Authority who bring political, business and community leaders together, to create strategic visions for the area and to support innovation in mobility planning and provision.

The format of the event is a residential 24-hour Chatham House rules discussion and participatory forum in a relaxed quality environment, addressed by experts and including facilitated workshops. There is an evening networking dinner at the end of the first day at which we will continue discussions prompted by addressed by a local political leader, and an outside speaker.

The programme is still under development but some of the key speakers already confirmed are:

• Nicola Kane, Head of Strategic Planning and Research, Transport for Greater Manchester
• Elizabeth Hunter, Head of Transport Policy, West Yorkshire Combined Authority
• Anthony Ferguson, Deputy Director, Traffic and Technology, Department for Transport
• Neil Chadwick, Director, Steer
• Simon Connick, Deputy Director, Traffic and Technology, Department for Transport

Further contributors to the event are going to be announced over the coming weeks along with the evening dinner speaker.
