Octopus Electroverse and Visa offer Business Payments Card

For vehicle fleets, juggling different charging cards, apps and payment options has long been a headache, slowing down fleet electrification and leaving drivers and fleet managers tangled in administration.

Octopus Energy’s Electroverse electric vehicle charging platform has teamed up with Visa to launch the Business Payments Card, a service that makes it easier for fleets to pay, track and save on the move.

The Business Payments Card is powered by Visa Fleet 2.0.

The Business Payments Card works as both a traditional fleet card and a full spending card, allowing drivers to cover the costs of being on the road, from EV charging to tolls, car washes, and meals.

Fleet managers can set spending limits, choose where budgets can be used, and adjust settings at any time, with easy expense uploads and built-in fraud protection keeping budgets secure.

Every journey, purchase, and receipt lives in one dashboard. Fleet managers gain insights into driver behaviours, VAT breakdowns, driver IDs, and charging patterns without the need to chase down paperwork.

The Electroverse Business Payments Card is available in both physical and digital formats, with virtual wallet options coming soon.

The new Business Payments Card is the latest addition to Electroverse’s suite of Octopus Fleet solutions, designed to support businesses in their shift to electric transport.
Via the Octopus Electroverse EV charging platform, drivers can power up at one of more than one million chargers worldwide, from 1,200 brands including IONITY InstaVolt, and Osprey.

Matt Davies, director of Electroverse, said: “We’ve made charging simple for drivers. Now we’re making the whole fleet experience just as easy for Britain’s six million fleet vehicles. Fleet managers and drivers have long had to navigate a maze of charging apps and payment solutions. With Visa, we’re proud to launch one of the first Visa Fleet 2.0 cards, putting everything on one card and giving businesses the control they need to speed up their shift to cleaner transport.”

Richard Campion, head of fleet and mobility at Visa Europe, said: “Fleet operators are looking for smarter ways to manage the shift to electric, and Visa Fleet 2.0 makes that transition simpler and more efficient. With Electroverse, we’re enabling UK businesses to consolidate on-the-road spending, gain real-time visibility and maintain the security and control they expect from Visa – all while powering a cleaner future for transport.”
